 Yes, one down and three to go as the Celts beat the Pistons here at the garden 88-79 , the Celts looked a little shakey early but thanks to some great defense they stayed in the game and matched Detroit run for run as the first half ended with the Celts clinging to a 1 point lead . 41-40.
But not even a week of rest could prepare the pistons for the hottest home team on the planet as the celts won thier 15th consecutive home contest, Kevin Garnett had 26 points and 9 boards and Captain Pierce scored 22 despite having Played a gut wrenching knock down drag out affair against the Cavs and King james with just one days rest .
Perkins was awesome on the boards with 10 and Ray Allen was looking for his shot but it was still a.w.o.l , as the Celts continued to get him the ball , he managed to convert for some easy layups. The Celts were dug in on defense. and gave up points only grudgingly as pj brown and the bench once again were a factor in the game .
Key to the game was Rajon Rondo who scored 7 of his 11 points in the fourth quarter Hitting a tree pointer with 1:47 left in the game, Rondo also had 8 assists and seven steals to outplay last years finals mvp Chauncy Billups in the process. To round out the scoring Ray Allen had 9 on 30 percent shooting as his slump continues, Pj Brown had 4 Posey had 2 and Powe had 4.
