A LEGEND IS BORN !!!

 With every national pundit from here to Timbuktu picking lord Kobe and the Lakers to roll over our Celts enroute to the nba title , Our boys in green showed they still have something to say on the matter . Kobe Bryant had twenty four points but the stifling Celtics defense made sure he earned them . They held Bryant to 9-26 shooting, and clamped down when it was needed most . The team which was supposed to have too much offense for the Celts to handle were kept under wraps by the best defense in the league .
After trailing by five at the half 46-51, the Celts were making inroads and the Captain was leading them to the promised land amid chants of truth and beat L.A. Those chants were silenced, and you could hear a pin drop as Kendrick Perkins, ran into Paul Pierce form behind and left the truth writhing in pain on the court . Lets go Paul filled the arena but it was not to be, as the captain was carried from the court and whisked to the locker room in a wheelchair . Immediately my thoughts were that the game may still be won, but the series was lost .
And then , Pierce returned, the garden erupted and the Truth took over the game. Pierce shook off a sprained knee and scored 22 points 11 after his injury in the third quarter , it was indeed a Willis Reed moment , and indeed some knowledgeable Celtics fans started chanting Reed upon his return, Pierce played with a fury and led his team to a ten point win . 98-88. Kevin Garnett scored 24 and Ray Allen added nineteen as Boston’s new big three made their first nba finals appearance count. But the story tonight was Paul Pierce who put in his bid to be next Boston legend , his signature moment was right up there with Mac’hales clothesline of Rambis Hondo stealing the ball, and Bird throttling Dr. J. the torch has been passed and the newest Boston legend is Paul Pierce.
The King is dead long live the truth …
