The Celts won a good game, 88-79 to take the first game.

The game started off well for the guys. They took an small lead early but defense was very good on both sides. The score was pretty low. Perk was huge with rebounds.

Ray still continued to have problems shooting but the guys kept on giving him the ball to get him going. He got a bunch of layups.

The Pistons went on a small run and took a small lead but the Celts quickly reclaimed the lead. The Celts started pushing the ball by running it and were able to build the lead. KG and McDysse both had the hot hand.

PJ and Posey continued their good play too. Good to see the bench make some contribution.

The game looked to be one of runs. Both sides made small runs to counter whatever the otherside did. The game would remain close. The Celt would make a run and build on the lead.

One problem was that the Celts got into foul trouble yet again. The Pistons got 17 free throws.

Towards the end of the half , the Celts got a bit sloppy in their passing and shot selection but the game remained close. The Celts lead 41-40.

The Celts started the half well by building an nice lead. Detroit started turning over the ball.  Great passing by the Celts. Rondo made some great plays.  PJ Brown continued his good play with grabbing rebounds. Paul looked great. Eddie House's three at the end of the third quarter was huge. It put the Celts up by twelve.

The Celts pushed the ball and that helped. The game certainly got chippy with hard fouls by both sides though Hamilton did hit KG on the head.

The Celts defense was huge with some turnovers. Posey and Rondo were big.  Paul Pierce was outstanding.

The problem was that the Celts were settling for three pointers and bad shot selection. They weren't hitting these shots. The Pistons certainly made things tough.

Down the stretch, the Celts built up a ten point lead. It was crazy but great to see the Celts play well. The game was  won by the defense. It's going to be a tough series but it was a great start.
