The Celts lost 103-97 for the first time at home.
The game started off a bit rough for the Pistons but they still managed to hang close with the Celts. Billups and Hamilton did play hard and get early scores.
The Celts continued to play ok. Defense was very good on both sides and the game remained close. Turnovers were even.
The refs seemed to be much more active and calling fouls. Both sides were in foul trouble. Ray Allen got three .
Both sides couldn't seem to score in the second quarter. The turnovers went up. The Celts did fall behind a little and play really got sloppy. The Celts hung in there though.
The problem with the Celts was that only KG, Paul, and Ray were the only ones scoring. It was nice to see Ray start scoring again. No one else had made a shot til late in the second half.
The Pistons definitely had more energy it seemed. McDyss seemed to have the hot hand. It was going to be a tough game.
Paul Pierce and KG were carrying the Celts. Tony Allen made an appearance.
The Pistons continued their solid defense while the Celts continued to have problems scoring. Also foul calls began piling up against the Celts. The Pistons had a 50-43 lead.
The Celts made a nice little run to start the second half and cut the lead however the Pistons made a run of their own.
The fourth quarter showed yet again why the Celts were tough but not tough enough. The Celts defense was less energetic and didn't make any stops. The Pistons held the lead and didn't give it up. They simply outlasted the Celts. Ray had twelve in the quarter. KG had a shot at tying the game but missed a key three in the final seconds. Frustrations...
Now the Celts have to win a game on the road or else.... It'll be interesting to see how the Celts respond on Saturday.
