The Celts win a close one 106-102. Woah
The game started off with a defensive battle for both sides. The defense was physical and tough. Both sides turned over the ball too much. Rondo was big here.
Pierce and Ray made a few big shots and the Celts made a nice run to build a lead. It was good to see Ray make a three. He missed an earlier jump shot. Perk made some good shots too. Still the game was too close.
Wallace and Billups made far too many three pointers. That kept the Pistons in the game. KG made some bad passes too.
The refs were up to their usual BS selves with the bad calls. Flagrant foul on Brown? hmm
The Pistons went on a run of their own and made things a bit tough. Turnovers were going to be the killer here. Sam Cassell had to get out of there.
Rondo made too many hot dog plays, trying to be cute with some of his passes. The game would settle down a bit with the Pistons having a small lead. The Celts bench had mixed results and didn't score in the half.
The Pistons continued to be physical and bump under the net. The Celts couldn't seem to play as well on defense. Ray had a slow start to the game. Still the guys kept feeding him the ball and got a key three to get the Celts back on top towards the end of the half. Perk was a rebounding monster! The Celts had 28rebounds to Pistons 11.
KG's three at the end of the half was a lucky one considering the time clock went off. Rondo continued to be a mixed bag with his passes. Hit or miss... The Celts led 52-46 at the half.
The Celts continued to play well and built up their lead. Rondo continued getting assists and showed some good defense. Ray Allen made a couple threes and finally had a good game.
Rondo and Ray made some bad passes but were lucky to not turn it over. Still the Celts got very good shooting, Ray definitely felt it tonight with a bunch of threes. The guy was definitely pumped up.
The Celts did get a little sloppy on defense at times but the Pistons weren't able to really cut into the Celts lead.
I didn't understand why Paul and Perk was sitting on the bench at the start of the fourth quarter. The Pistons cut the lead.
The Pistons played hard defense but the Celts were still able to hold on to the lead. KG made key scores. Hamilton continued to have a very good game. The Celts didn't defend him well though I don't think it mattered.
Pierce would get into the game after a minute into the quarter.
What was frustrating to see is all the turnovers down the stretch. KG and Rondo gave up open shots and chose to pass it. Uggh.. Shoot the damn ball!! It was like they were playing to keep the lead and not to build on the lead. The Celts also continued to make these lob passes that were horrible.
The game got really close in the final minute. The guys continued to have problems closing out games. Everyone wanted to pass the ball and not take the shot.
Ray Allen and KGs free throws were huge at the end.
What a crazy game....The game shouldn't have been this close but its a win.
