The Celts lost a very tough game 97-92.

The first quarter started off pretty good for the Celts. They were much  more aggressive and intense. The Celts came to play and squash the Hawks. The refs were certainly more busy giving the Celts a lot more fouls as usual.

The Celts had a much better shooting night and held the Hawks without a field goal except for foul shots in the first 8 minutes. The Celts defense got 3-4 early turnovers.  KG, Ray and Paul all scored in the first few minutes and got off to a good start unlike in game three. They were on a mission.

The Hawks eventually did get things started towards the end of the quarter and made it a closer game. But the Celts seemed to run out of gas. Their shooting got cold and the Hawks got hot and took the lead after being down thirteen. Defense dropped off. It was rather frustrating to see all over again.

The refs certainly helped the Hawks calling everything against the Celts. The game got testy in the second with technical fouls on KG and Cassell and a couple Hawks.

Slowly the Celts defense improved and chipped away at the lead. Both sides really played physical and hard.

The score was 51-48 Hawks at the half.

Both sides came out rather sloppy in the third quarter. Bad shot selection. The game went back and forth. The game was rather foul-free and fast moving in the third quarter.

The Celts finally got the lead again and slowly built it up. The foul troubles continued to haunt the Celts. Paul had to sit out the end of the third with four fouls.

The defense stepped up again and the Celts just started playing loose again. The Celts went on a 11-0 run. Rondo was part of the reason.

The fourth quarter, the Hawks went on a run as expected. Pierce still had some problems shooting. The Celts have to work on their free throw shooting. It was crazy how many shots were missed. And the Hawks made all theirs it seemed. It really made the difference in the game.

The game got tight as expected and the lead went back and forth down the stretch. No thanks to the refs. The Celts also went cold again at the wrong time. KG couldn't get those easy shots. Totally frustrating to see. Joe Johnson had the hot hand with 18pts and the Celts defense just wasn't stopping him. The Hawks defense was also better.

What a miserable game.... And the Celts just have to step up their shooting and defense. They let the Hawks back into the series when they could of won tonight's game. They didn't close out the game.
