The Celts win a stomach churner, 76-72 over the Cavs.
The game started off bad for the Celts. The guys couldn't score in the opening minutes thanks to tough Cavs' defense. The Cavs scored the first several buckets and the Celts were not able to get going.
The Celts did fight back and got the lead. The Celts went on a nice run The defense stepped up and the Cavs shooting went cold. Posey was great guarding Lebron. The game still remained close as one would expect. KG was on fire though with 12 points.
The second quarter showed that the Cavs make a run back. The refs certainly had a say in things and got a ton of calls. Yet again, the Celts were on the wrong end of these calls. And this kept the Cavs in the game.
The game certainly got tight when the Celts got cold with their shooting but still managed to keep a lead. The game just went back and forth. Without KG and Rondo though, the Celts would be in trouble. scoring wise. Paul and Ray really didn't get going in the first half.
The score was 41-37 Celts at half-time. Talk about a nailbiter.
The second half started off pretty much the same as the other quarters. The Celts continued to get foul calls though and that pretty much helped the Cavs make it a close game. Lebron didn't score too many points from the field but made up for it on the line. The Celts defense was good here. However, the other Cavs players made up for the difference.
The Cavs did take a small lead without any scoring by Lebron. It was rather amazing and frustrating since the Celts weren't taking advantage of it. Ray Allen continued to be cold. Turnovers became a factor in the third quarter. Unacceptable.
A more interesting thing to not was that the Cavs shot under thirty percent.
The fourth quarter saw the Celts with a one point lead but the game went back and forth from there. Defense was good on both sides though the Cavs seemed to make the more spectacular blocks.
The Celts were able to build a small lead but it was still too close. Defense....defense....defense....
The game went back and forth from there and made it way too freakin tense to watch. Thank God for KG. He came up huge with 28pts. Sam Cassell and James Posey made several free throws down the stretch. What a freaking game...Good win. This is just game one too. Geeez.
