Boston Herald.com - Before the NBA Finals began, one of the biggest fears the Celtics had was that center Kendrick Perkins , who had established himself as a defensive force during the first three playoff series, would run into foul trouble as he attempted to guard versatile, 7-foot Los Angeles center Pau Gasol.
That is exactly what happened last night in Game 1 as Perkins not only found himself with four fouls early in the second half, but also suffered a sprained ankle in the third quarter and was limited to just 23:01 of playing time.
